URBAN eat Blog of the Month: Wholeheartedly Healthy

This month we have a treat for you! We’re excited to feature Laura Agar Wilson who is the creator of Wholeheartedly Healthy as our blogger of the month. Her blog is amazing and was featured on British TV and in many Top 100 lists of blogs devoted to healthy living. The blog follows Laura’s healthy living journey after she successfully lost 60lbs, and kept it off. Laura has a fantastic philosophy that aims to provide a wide range of practical and useful information, content and services that will help you live a Wholeheartedly Healthy life. In addition to her blog and health coaching practice she is a professional health writer and recipe developer and author of Grains and Mains recipe book.

We asked Laura some questions about her blog and love for food, here are her answers:


1. What inspired you to start your blog?

I started my blog back in 2010 after I’d lost some weight. I wanted a way to keep myself motivated to keep the weight off, and starting a blog seemed like a good way to keep me focused on healthy living!

2. Where do you find inspiration for recipes?

Sometimes it’s something I’ve eaten in a cafe or restaurant or seen on a menu. I also love Pinterest for sparking off ideas. A lot of the time it just comes from my own imagination and what ingredients are seasonal at the time, as well as any cravings I’ve been having!


3. What is your favourite recipe in your blog and why?

This is tough, but I’d probably say my Salted Almond Butter Fudge. It’s so delicious and easy to make as well as being a real healthy treat!

4. What would be your dream destination regarding food?

New York, I’d be able to visit really healthy eateries like One Lucky Duck and all their Whole Foods stores but balance it up with plenty of cheesecake!


5. What is your most spectacular kitchen fail?

I’m quite lucky in that department as most things tend to turn out ok. My biggest fails usually involve exploding blenders and dropping trays out of the oven!
