Our Top 5 Christmas Markets For 2015

Here at URBAN eat, we are now full steam ahead with our Christmas Spirit. Our Crafty Kids competition is live, the office is going through a Christmas makeover, and we’ve only suddenly realised that we need to start buying that long list of Christmas presents that we have been trying to avoid. So how do you start this long list of presents you ask? By putting yourself in the spirit of things by visiting a Christmas Market of course!

Why a Christmas Market you ask? They are full of amazing homemade gifts, hot and delicious foods and really help you find that Christmas spirit you are searching for. So without further ado, here are our top 5 Christmas markets for 2015.

 

1. Nottingham Christmas Market & Ice Rink Winter Wonderland

This Christmas market made the list because it’s a magical ‘Old England’ theme with around 60 trader cabins selling amazing foods and gifts, Christmas Fun Rides, a bar for the adults and an Ice Rink that will surely get you in the Christmas Spirit.

2. Winchester Cathedral Christmas Market & Ice Rink

This market oozes charm and boasts to be the best one in the country. Its stunning and beautiful setting around the Cathedral is perfect for a weekend getaway too. It boasts over 100 chalets around the central Ice Rink that’s guaranteed to at least occupy a whole evening of Christmas shopping, if not a whole day too.

3. Cardiff Christmas Market

This Christmas Market has run successfully for over 20 years, boasting an ideal, easy to access location and over 150 mainly local businesses selling gorgeous local crafts and wares.

4. Edinburgh Christmas Market

Feeling a little different? Head up to Scotland to this beautiful city (we were there for Fresher’s and it was truly STUNNING) and we can imagine it to be more so with Twinkley lights and an extra special Scottish Take on the Christmas market. There is also a Children’s market too to make it even more fun for the whole family.

5. Hyde Park Winter Wonderland

Last but by no means least, we recommend the Hyde Park Winter Wonderland. Situated in the heart of London, this place will definitely take any part of the Bah Humbug out of you! With an Ice Rink, Ice World, Circus, Fun Rides and Bavarian Village with lots of food and alcohol for the adults; this place has something for everyone. The atmosphere is great fun, and you are bound to find some Christmas Trinkets that will be an ideal gift for someone too.
